Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is home to the United States' largest integrated health care system, consisting of 150 medical centers, -1,400 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics, Community Living Centers, Vet Centers and Domiciliaries. Together, these health care facilities and the more than 53,000 independent licensed health care practitioners who work within them, provide comprehensive care to more than 8.3 million Veterans each year. VHA Medical Centers provide a wide range of services including traditional hospital-based services such as surgery, critical care, mental health, orthopedics, pharmacy, radiology, and physical therapy. In addition, most of our medical centers offer additional medical and surgical specialty services including audiology & speech pathology, dermatology, dental geriatrics, neurology, oncology, podiatry, prosthetics, urology, and vision care. Some Medical Centers also offer advanced services such as organ transplants and plastic surgery. The Network Director serves as the Chief Executive of the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) and is responsible for the effective management of multiple components including primary, secondary, and tertiary care medical centers; and other linked access points providing care for Veterans. In consultation with the Deputy Under Secretary for Operations and Management, the Network Director will formulate and implement major organizational operating policies and plans for effective governance of an interdependent and decentralized healthcare delivery system. Develops and updates VISN-wide 1, 2, and 5-year strategic plans to achieve short and long-term goals consistent with VA health system policy, priorities and goals and include staff priorities, services, education, research business management, supplies, equipment, construction and funding consistent with customer and community needs. In consultation with VA Central Office, subordinate officials, the VISN Executive Leadership Council and management team, the Network Director will develop annual VISN business plans which, on local and VISN-wide levels. Allocates and adjusts resources within the VISN for adequate support and operating initiatives such as the Choice Act. Develops and achieves corporate objectives in quality of services and programs throughout the VISN, as evaluated by internal indicators, regulatory and accreditation reviews, and patient satisfaction data. The Network Director will also ensure continuous improvement relative to the quality, value and access of health care services for Veterans. Develops effective working relationships and partnerships with Veterans, affiliates, stakeholders and employee's unions, consistent with VA's National Partnership Council goals. Develops and fosters a corporate culture of service throughout the VISN, promoting ethical practices, encouraging individual integrity, and adhering to the VA's ICARE values. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
