Executive Director, Communications Strategy and Transformation

Overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.
Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.
Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field.

The Oracle Cloud Applications organization has an immediateopening for an Executive Director of Communications Strategy andTransformation. This new role ispositioned to take the Oracle Cloud message into the Communications marketplace,directly to the C-suite like never before.
As the Executive Director, you will have worked previouslyin a Communications organization and accumulated robust experience andknowledge on key industry issues, including trends, regulations, and the industrylandscape. You will understand industryregulation and government issues, particularly as it relates to organizationalrequirements to leverage cloud capabilities including data, privacy andcompliance requirements. You will alsohave developed an understanding of the industry value chains incommunications environments, and the core processes.
Additionally, you will have at least a capability-levelknowledge of the information systems and technology capabilities typically usedto drive the core business and organizational processes in Communications,and have gained experience in a transformation program that involved in wholeor in part, a technology transformation to the cloud.
Responsibilities
This person will act both individually and viainfluence-leadership to coordinate Oracle resources virtually across boundariesto shape Oracle s voice to executive audiences at Communications organizations. This person engages with customers directlyand regularly through sales opportunities to deliver industry-relevantmessaging and ensure that our selling and technical teams capture andcommunicate the full value of enterprise Oracle s Cloud business applications andeffectively shape that value in terms that leaders in Communications recognize and understand. This person will be seen as credible by our Communications customers and seen internally as a thought leader who can bringindustry-relevant and thought-provoking messaging in order to positioninstitutional-relevant outcomes that will be powered by Oracle sindustry-leading cloud applications portfolio, including customer (student,alumni, network and community) engagement and experience, human capitalmanagement, ERP and financials, supply chain management, enterprise planning,etc.
In addition to building close relationships with OracleSales leadership and sales teams, it will be the responsibility of this personto partner and engage with key internal Oracle stakeholder groups, such asProduct Marketing, Product Development, Solution Engineering, and OracleConsulting to shape our company messages, products, and delivery with a Communications point of view that s differentiated in the marketplace.
This role should expect travel commensurate with approximately50%-75% customer facing time.

Demonstrated Communications industry knowledge:
o Industry-specific issues and current trends
o Top management concerns
o Industry-specific value chains and key business processes
o Capability-level understanding of common industry-specific technology and information systems
Experience; 5 years of direct experience in one or more Communications organizations. Additionally, we will consider candidates with management consulting experience and/or technology provider business development / sales experience serving Communications organizations at a strategic level.
